IN 2016 WITH THE ADDITION OF DIRK AND A FEW NEW MACHINES BISON WOODWORKING IS READY TO BUILD THAT ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF FURNITURE JUST FOR YOU.

Bison Woodworking is what happens when a couple of individuals with a passion for woodworking come together to make something great. Starting in a garage in 2006, Bison Woodworking was a one man show, turning out beautiful and unique kitchen islands and butcher blocks. Each one, built by hand, one at a time by Craig himself.

OUR GREAT TEAM

Craig

Founder & CEO

For more years than he would like to admit, Craig Newman has been a woodworker. Starting in his high school wood shop Craig developed a passion for carpentry, a skill that he would nurture and develop for nearly 40 years. Retiring in 2016 from the US Postal Service he was finally able to fulfill his lifelong passion for woodcraft in the form of Bison Woodworking. Craig brings a skill set and knowledge to the business that is hard to come by these days.

Dirk

Designer

With nearly ten years of experience in the manufacturing industry Dirk Sorenson brings a unique perspective to Bison Woodworking. What Craig brings to the table with his years of experience, Dirk is able to contribute with technology using 3D design software and CNC machining. The experience he has had in the metal fabrication industry allows him and Craig to combine steel and wood into unique and one of a kind designs.

 Rick

Metal Fabrication

After nearly twenty years of welding and working in the metal fabricating industry, Rick Ross is now applying his skills and experience to the unique components of Bison Woodworking. Focusing primarily on metal fabrication, Rick handles all of the cutting, shaping and welding of each metal piece. He takes the designs handed to him from Dirk and Craig and turns those ideas into reality. It’s a new direction in Rick’s career as a metal worker and he provides a welcome perspective to Bison Woodworking.

Steven

Carpenter

From an early age Steven has expressed his creativity through the art of the build. Whether it was tinkering with old cars and parts in his grandfather’s shop or building his own forged for blacksmithing he has always enjoyed working with his hands. Joining the team in early 2018 Steven now gets to bring his skills and attention to detail to our team.

Jared
